Speed is the Key for Datawarehouse Specialist Partnering with Sybase
SYDNEY — 6 February 2008 — Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, today announced a strategic partnership with Keylink Technology to jointly market Sybase IQ, a highly-optimised business intelligence engine, to large government, finance, telecommunications and retail organisations in Australia.
Keylink Technology is a Sydney-based software solutions company specialised in improving software and data warehouse performance. Its customers include Telstra, Westpac, St George Bank, CSC, IBM Australia, Centrelink, National Australia Bank, Myer and Woolworths. Keylink will market Sybase IQ as part of its solutions portfolio for the data warehouse space.
Designed from the start as an analytics server, Sybase IQ produces its incredibly fast results because of a unique architecture combining a column-based data structure with patented indexing and a scalable grid. Compatible with standard hardware platforms and leading analytics applications, Sybase IQ offers extraordinarily high performance at a lower cost than alternatives. Sybase IQ also reduces storage and server requirements compared to traditional database management systems.
“We are excited to be partnering with Sybase. Sybase IQ is the best analytical server available today, and will help our customers better manage large data warehouse environments with up to 20 terabytes of data,” says Luke Dougherty, Director Keylink Technology. “The phenomenal performance Sybase IQ has demonstrated during our in-house testing has generated a high level of interest, and we will be trialing the solution at the first customer sites over the next couple of weeks.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Keylink to our rapidly growing channel community for Sybase IQ,” says Steve Dolan, Director Channel and Alliances, Sybase Australia and New Zealand. “Keylink’s impressive customer base in the large enterprise sector corresponds with the market scenarios where Sybase IQ’s high-speed and high-volume analytical capabilities offer most value.”
With nearly 1,000 organisations globally using Sybase IQ, including 200 of the world’s leading financial institutions, it has a proven track record in business intelligence. Sybase IQ has also recently set an independent benchmark record by compressing one petabyte of raw data by 85 percent, resulting in a “green” data environment with 90 percent less CO2 emissions.
